Walk and Talk Therapy in San Luis Obispo

Connect Your Mind and Body in Nature

At Authentic Life Therapy, we offer walk and talk therapy in SLO as a meaningful alternative to traditional office-based sessions. For some people, the simple act of walking in nature while processing thoughts and feelings can feel more natural, grounding, and effective than sitting face-to-face in a room. The trail becomes our therapy space, and your pace sets the tone—this isn’t about getting a workout, but rather creating a comfortable, relaxed environment where conversation can flow.

We begin with three initial assessment sessions in-office or via Telehealth to determine if walk and talk therapy is a good fit. If it is, we’ll try a few outdoor sessions and then re-evaluate together. Some clients even prefer a hybrid approach, alternating between the trail and the office depending on the week.
